Meet the Aberfoyle Wolfpack!

The Aberfoyle Wolfpack Baseball Club will play their inaugural season in the summer of 2022, at the 11U level, in the Fergie Jenkins Showcase League.

The Fergie Jenkins Showcase League is named after the first Canadian baseball player inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The league was created to showcase talented elite baseball players in order for them to make it to the next level.

The league was launched in the summer of 2012 and plays a summer schedule that runs from approximately mid-May to mid-August. A portion of each team's registration fee is donated to the Fergie Jenkins Foundation, which supports a number of charities.

Our Mission

The goal of the Aberfoyle Wolfpack Baseball Club is to create the ultimate youth baseball experience while maintaining an unrivaled team atmosphere.

We are strictly not-for-profit; thus we strive to keep costs as low as possible. We aren't bound by unnecessary overhead such as buildings or payroll. All money is invested directly into the team.

Furthermore, we intend to be as transparent as we can be.

To the extent possible, we will involve our players and their parents in decisions that affect the team. This is especially true when it comes to influencing our schedule, deciding on the number of, and location of, tournaments we play in, and what offseason travel we may consider.

Where We Play

The Aberfoyle Wolfpack will be playing their home games at Morriston Meadows Park in Puslinch, Ontario. We will be working closely with the township in order to turn this already great field into a preeminent youth baseball facility.

Games in the Fergie Jenkins Showcase League are scheduled on weekends. This allows teams to conduct practices during the week, while saving parents the trouble of having to rush to out of town games on weekdays.

The season typically runs from mid-May until mid-August. Players should expect to be playing league or tournament games on eight weekends during the season, as well as attending 2 practices per week.

Setting the schedule is done with feedback from all teams. The Wolfpack will be required to submit a schedule of weekends we are available to play baseball. Determining which weekends the team will, or will not, play baseball will be done with feedback from the families.

We will also ask for feedback from the families on tournaments to register for.

A small selection of possible tournament destinations (excluding Canadian tournament listings) is listed below:

Name Location
American Classic (BATL) Battle Creek, MI
Mid-August Bash Ypsilanti, MI
End of Summer Bash (BATL) Rockford, MI
Cap Classic New Era Buffalo, NY
Cap Classic Series Pittsburgh, PA
Midwest Tournament Factory Findlay, OH
FJSL Playoffs Niagara Falls, ON

Offseason Program

The Aberfoyle Wolfpack plans to begin offseason training in mid-to-late January, 2022. We may consider some team gatherings in the fall of 2021, but any such event will be about team building or possibly fund raising, as opposed to training.

Once training does begin in 2022, players can expect to be scheduled to train 1-2 times per week until the end of April, leading up to the season.

All planned offseason activities will be subject to COVID-19 restrictions.

Offseason training activities will include strength and conditioning programs, baseball knowledge building exercises as well as baseball skills development and practices.

As part of offseason experience with the Aberfoyle Wolfpack, we will be considering a Spring Training trip in March, 2023, as well as looking to arrange visits from current and former MLB players, as well as top level expert instructors.
